This square platter is stamped with a striped pattern on the edges and tessellated pattern on the face. It has been finished with a medium gray glaze that shows a subtle darker speckling throughout. It is an excellent size for serving crackers, breads, finger sandwiches, cookies, and hors d'oeuvres.
It is handbuilt from a slab (flat piece of clay) and formed over a mold. The body has been stamped to add texture, contrast, and pattern where the glaze breaks. The coil handles have been impressed with a striped pattern. All of the stamps are handmade by me and unique. The clay body is a red stoneware.
The foot is sanded so that it is smooth to the touch.
This platter is 8 inches by 8 inches and stands 1.5 inches tall. At the handles, it is 9 inches and stands approximately 2.5 inches tall.
